At an age of 13, over 200,000 visits have been made and 13,000 hours of flight, about 5,500 patients transported. As a result, Amil Resgate Saude, a pioneer in Latin America, is considered the best Aeromedical Rescue Service in South America. It currently operates a Cessna Citation Jet II helicopters and 23 ambulances.
Amil Resgate Saude reference is in attendance and rescue missions, collaborating with government agencies and integrating Plans Serving Major Disasters, managed by the Fire Department of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
With three bases on 24 hour standby (in Rio, Barra da Tijuca and Niterói, in Sao Paulo, Alphaville), the rescue service has 41 intensive care physicians, 47 nurses and technicians, 10 pilots, 22 drivers, 6 aircraft mechanics, an aeronautical engineer and four rescue coordinators.
The Origins
Amil initially bought AS-350-B2 Squirrel helicopter, the French newly launched model, two land ambulances, truly portable ICUs. In 1994, with the need to expand throughout the country and in neighboring countries the area of operation of its air medical rescue service, the company bought a jet, Citation SII, manufactured by Cessna in the United States. The model left the factory configured for medical services, following the latest rescue techniques.
Reference
The Professionals that work in the Amil Resgate Saude are unanimous in stating that the service nowadays is a reference in Latin America. "We can say, citing testimony from colleagues from other areas, that we changed the concepts of emergency care and emergency calls that require first on-site treatment and transportation to hospitals and specialized services," says Dino Roberto Gomes, manager of Amil Resgate Saude Rio de Janeiro.

Bases

Preventive Care
